I had the fortune of having Roger as a coach for six months during a time of uncertainty about the next steps for our organization. I am the CEO of a foundation that promotes sustainable forestry in tropical regions. We have a complex and dynamic landscape in terms of mission, funding, local partners, and a dispersed organization. Roger surprised me by quickly understanding this reality. He also had the ability to listen, ask thought-provoking questions, and creatively brainstorm with me about new ways forward. This was important to me, as previous attempts to get support from a mentor or coach often failed because I didn't feel they understood. At his core, Roger has a coaching approach and does not shy away from challenging in order to move forward and achieve goals. We had the pleasure of having Roger lead a one-day workshop with our finance department at TSS. During the planning stage, both myself and our team leaders were involved through individual interviews conducted by Roger. Based on our individual conversations and requests, he tailored our workshop to meet our needs, and I was able to approve the setup well in advance of the event. Roger impressed us all with his expertise and ability to engage the group throughout the day by varying between lectures and reflection exercises in both group and individual settings. He skillfully guided us through various themes and ensured that each participant felt both included and inspired. We are very satisfied with his work and highly recommend him for similar assignments aimed at initiating change in a way that engages, inspires, develops, and simultaneously provides space for personal reflection and recognizing the greatness in each individual.
When I started working with Roger, I felt a strong need to both regain my energy and take the next step in my career. Roger proved to be an invaluable resource during this journey. He helped me clearly identify both my strengths and weaknesses, and provided me with the tools to reflect more deeply on my tasks, my relationships with colleagues, and how to best handle different situations and individuals.
During our time together, Roger challenged me to think differently and to take on challenges in ways I hadn't dared before. With his support, I had six months where I systematically challenged myself, both professionally and personally, and gradually began to see the change I had longed for.
